Wärtsilä solution
With a total installed power of 14,720 kW, Normand Ivan is among the most compact and powerful AHTS vessels in service in the North Sea. The entire propulsion system, consisting of two Wärtsilä 16V32 main engines, two Wärtsilä SCH 95 gearboxes, two LIPS controllable pitch propellers in nozzles, and a Wichmatic control system, was delivered as a package by Wärtsilä. The engines are equipped with a Wärtsilä Engine Control System (WECS 7000) for local monitoring and operation, while the Wichmatic propulsion control system handles the control of the CPP and the user interface at the manoeuvring stations.
