Rederi AB Donsötank is a Swedish shipping company with a fleet consisting mainly of chemical and product tankers. ESL Shipping Oy of Finland is a leading carrier of dry bulk cargo in the Baltic region. Together these two companies own the 19,625 dwt geared general cargo carrier Credo. The ship will trade in the Baltic and is being built to Finnish ice class 1A Super.

Wärtsilä solution
Wärtsilä is supplying an extensive machinery package, comprising the Wärtsilä 6RT-flex50 main engine, three Wärtsilä 4L20 generating sets, one Lips controllable pitch propeller, a PTO tunnel gear with shaft alternator, and a Lipstronic decentralized pitch control system.

The Wärtsilä 6RT-flex50 low-speed engine has a maximum continuous power of 9720 kW at 124 rpm. It was chosen for its smokeless operation which is important in the Baltic where the ship will trade, and for its operational flexibility which is foreseen to offer economic benefits.
