Typically PM levels of 50 mg/m3 (dry @ 15 % O2, NTP), or even lower depending on the ESP design and fuel oil quality, can be reached after an ESP in Wärtsilä diesel engine applications fired with HFO.
Small amounts of fly ash are produced as end-product. The fly ash should be utilized or disposed of in an environmentally sound way.
