Maneguard bearing

Maneguard bearing

The Maneguard bearing is a simple, robust, non-polluting bearing system. The bearing is supplied as a ready-to-fit system, either with bearings only for press fitting into the stern tube, or together with housings, fully machined and ready to insert into the stern frame or bracket boss.

The material is designed to be harder than rubber or elastomeric bearing materials. This prevents sand particles becoming embedded in its surface, and so avoids damage to the shaft or liner that could cause premature bearing failure. The benefits to the ship owner include longer service life, lower lifecycle costs, and greater reliability than other bearing systems.
