Under the heading “The best marine solutions by humans”, Wärtsilä will focus on its capabilities as a ship power systems integrator at this year´s Posidonia exhibition in Piraeus.
Our stand will highlight our broad portfolio of efficient marine solutions for meeting the needs of our customers. One such example is Wärtsilä´s family of dual-fuel engines. With more than 20 years of experience, more than 1000 gas engines sold and in constant operation, Wärtsilä is today the marine sector´s market leader in natural-gas-based power production. To date, our dual-fuel technology has accumulated more than 1 500 000 engine running hours, and the total power installed will reach 4 000 000 kW by the end of 2010.
Another featured highlight is the successful RT-flex common-rail system, which offers a range of benefits to shipowners and operators. More than 700 vessels are already powered by Wärtsilä RT-flex common-rail engines. The latest addition to the RT-flex low-speed two-stroke engine family, is the Wärtsilä RT-flex35 engine, which offers efficient direct-drive propulsion of a wide range of small and medium-sized cargo vessels, such as break-bulk cargo ships, bulk carriers, tankers and container feeder vessels.
As an example of Wärtsilä´s broad portfolio of environmental services, a model of a Wärtsilä Senitec sludge and bilge water separator will be displayed on the stand.
