Big responsibilities
I am Chinese and I currently reside in Taipei, Taiwan with my wife and two kids. I am responsible for the Power Plants unit there, including sales, marketing and project handling. I am also in charge of operations in Wärtsilä Taiwan, covering administration, finance, OpExS (Operative Excellence System), and other external legal issues.
Engineer to director
My career path began in 1982 when I served two years at sea as a Marine Engineer. I then spent eight years working in a trading house as sales manager for marine engines and related auxiliary equipment. I have been employed for several years by Wärtsilä Taiwan as Sales Manager in Power, General Manager in Power, and now Managing Director of Wärtsilä Taiwan since January 2000.
Competencies matter
In my position it is essential to have the necessary competencies such as leadership and communication skills. Currently my most important challenge is to further develop my leadership abilities.
